"☀☀☀☀☀ Auto Insurance!  Not the most exciting part of buying a car but one of the most essential. It is paperwork, and thus resembles "work". The mind places this task in the backfield and you want it over and done with as soon as possible. This is fine, you will still have insurance at the end of the day, but you will be missing out on a key resource to maintain your car. Knowing I dislike general document work but like the car very much, I made the effort to mentally attach the good feelings of the car to its inurance. This helped to stay interested while reading the policy terms. Keep telling yourself it's for your car, not a work assignment. This will be the most important credential for your car. Reg and inspection are after. Take the time to read up on your options. Imagine if you could use that option, or if it seems a fair possibility. Many people go into buying insurance with the goal of the lowest cost possible, and I was no exception. I realized quickly however that I really could benefit from it in certain areas, and it would not be good to cut everything to the absolute minimum. Calling Jeff Timm at State Farm was the best insurance decision I could have made. I have had State Farm in the past but didn't always have a car. There were three major occasions in my driving past when State Farm came through with flying colors. With the purchase of a new vehicle, I had no doubt I would be calling State Farm first. After talking to Jeff, there was no need or desire for further calls. Jeff got right to my questions and concerns. I didn't have a new expensive car, it was 20yrs old and 171k miles. Jeff could not have treated me better if I were calling to insure a Bentley. He spoke with the highest level of attention and proffesionalism. He was able to look up many details of my car, some that were not shown in any report online, and give me a quote rapidly, including all the discounts I would qualify for. I didn't have to ask or dive into the fine print, the discounts were already there. I felt as though I had a brand new car and Jeff was my personal agent. He volunteered to be on the phone while I went to the DMV for registration. Since it was an out of state car, some documents might not get to the DMV as fast as to the insurance agency. This is what above and beyond average service looks like. As a proffessional, Jeff is indebted to describe all the options and at the same time never pressure you into an unneeded extra. This is a fine line to walk, especially when competition between companies is a constant factor. If you represent a superior agency, as Jeff Timm does, your service will not be the cheapest option, it will be superior. This is what you want from an agency and from an agent. Someone in your corner, on your side to make things right.
